Sapang Dalaga Falls is an 18-meter (60-
feet) tall waterfall located in Sitio Celso
Velez, Barangay Poblacion, Sapang
Dalaga, Misamis Occidental. Formerly
known as Baga Falls—with “Baga”
meaning “waterfall” in the Subanen
language—it features a refreshing basin
teeming with fish. A footbridge connects
both sides of the area, and a man-made
statue of a maiden sitting on a stone
serves as a distinct landmark. This
statue was created by the Mindanao
artist – Kublai Millan. The name Sapang
Dalaga comes from “Sapa ng Dalaga,”
which means “maiden in a creek.” Locals
regard the place as mystical, marked by a grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes placed atop the
stairs, believed to guard and bless visitors who swim in its waters.
