The Oroquieta Plaza Kiosk, originally built in the late 18th century by Spanish priest Fr. Tomas Casado, was inspired by kiosk designs
from his homeland in Navarre, Spain. A historical landmark, the kiosk bore witness to significant events, including the execution of 117 Misamisnon revolutionaries by
American forces in 1901, and the formal surrender of local revolutionaries led by Gen.
Rufino Deloso in 1902. For generations, the Oroquieta Kiosk has served as a central venue for civic, cultural, political, ecumenical, and social eventsโmaking it a treasured symbol of Oroquieta City's historical and cultural heritage.
