a culturally significant irrigation structure steeped in tradition and
mysticism. Originally built using river stones, the dam was upgraded into a concrete structure in the 1980s. However, the irrigation canal system it serves has remained virtually unchanged since the 1800s. Its founder, Nazareno Gamutan, a Boholano migrant, led the construction of this century-old waterway that continues to support the municipality’s agricultural livelihood.
