The Bawbawon Coral Reef System and Danao Bay Coral Reef. The Bawbawon Reef System, part
of the 7-island Bawbawon group, features shallow coral gardens teeming with colorful reef fish, giant clams, sea urchins, and soft and hard corals just a few feet below the surface—ideal for both snorkeling and scuba diving. The Danao Bay Coral Reef, located along the
southeastern coast of Plaridel, offers deeper reef walls and diverse marine life, including angelfish, lionfish, sea turtles, and occasional sightings of rays and reef sharks, making it a
prime site for experienced divers. Both reef systems are part of the town’s marine protected
areas and showcase Plaridel’s commitment to sustainable marine eco-tourism.
